Carin Kuoni is a curator and writer whose work examines how contemporary artistic practices reflect and shape social, political, and cultural conditions. She is senior director/chief curator of the Vera List Center for Art and Politics at The New School and Assistant Professor of Visual Studies.

Jack Jin Gary Lee is Assistant Professor of Sociology at The New School for Social Research and Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts. His scholarship explores how race and law shape the social logics and processes of governance in modern empires and (post)colonial states.

Orsolya Lehotai is a Ph.D. candidate in Politics at The New School for Social Research. Her work is broadly situated in understanding Hungary’s non-democratic political transformation since 2010.

Jenny Perlin’s films, artworks, and essays engage documentary traditions around truth, misunderstanding, and personal history. She teaches at Eugene Lang College and is director of The Hoosac Institute, a  platform for text and image focusing on works that exceed or challenge disciplinary narratives. 

Madhav Tipu Ramachandran is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at The New School for Social Research. His research interests include ethics, economics, and development.

Sara Serpa is a singer, composer, and improviser who explores the use of the voice as an instrument. She was voted NPR Jazz Vocalist of the year in 2020 and Downbeat Magazine Critics Poll Rising Star-Female Vocalist in 2019. She teaches in the College of Performing Arts at The New School.

Colin Stearns is Associate Professor of Photography at Parsons School of Design. He is a photographer dedicated to the form of the photobook.

Olivia Steiert is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at the New School for Social Research. She is interested in how textual and visual discourses shape our understanding of climate change as an event.

Hugh Raffles is Director of GIDEST and Professor of Anthropology at The New School for Social Research and Eugene Lang College.

Jen Roy, a Ph.D. candidate in Anthropology at The New School for Social Research, is the 2024-25 GIDEST Program Assistant.
