McKenzie Wark is the author, among other things, of Capital is Dead (Verso 2019) and Reverse Cowgirl (Semiotexte 2020). She edited the trans | fem | aesthetics issue of eflux journal (2021). She is professor of culture and media at Eugene Lang College and also teaches in the MA in liberal studies program.

McKenzie wants to document the world of the millennial trans women of Brooklyn, or more specifically some loose networks, in which she's both an insider (as a transsexual) and an outsider (the middle aged professor). She is focused on two pockets in particular: the ravers and the writers, with some occasional excursions into other miniature worlds. Where can we be at home in the world? Not many places, as it happens. Here are some where our presence is no big deal.
