Eyal Weizman

Material Aesthetics

Eyal Weizman is an architect, professor of spatial and visual cultures, and director of the Centre for Research Architecture at Goldsmiths, University of London. Since 2014, he has been a global professor at Princeton University.

In 2011, he established the research agency Forensic Architecture. In 2007, with Sandi Hilal and Alessandro Petti, he formed the architectural collective DAAR in Beit Sahour/Palestine. His books include The Roundabout Revolution (Sternberg, 2015), The Conflict Shoreline (Steidl and Cabinet, 2015), Architecture after Revolution (with Alessandro Petti and Sandi Hilal; Sternberg, 2014), Mengele’s Skull (with Thomas Keenan; Sternberg, 2012), The Least of all Possible Evils (Verso, 2011),  Hollow Land (Verso, 2007), A Civilian Occupation (with Rafi Segal and David Tartakover; Verso, 2003).

Weizman is on the editorial board of Third TextHumanity, Cabinet, and Political Concepts, and was on the advisory boards of the ICA in London and B’Tselem - The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories in Jerusalem, among others. He studied architecture at the Architectural Association in London and completed his Ph.D. at the London Consortium/Birkbeck College.
