Haa'yuups

Haa’yuups is a member of the Huupachesat-h First Nation of the Nuu-chah-nulth peoples, Head of House of Takiishtakamlthat-h, Clan 'Tlikuulthat-h, Tribe Huupa'chesat-h. He is a fisherman, teacher, researcher, interviewer, author, artist, and ritual specialist. 

An acclaimed carver, singer, dancer, composer, and designer of regalia and thliitsapilthim (ceremonial dance curtains), Haa’yuups has exhibited and curated widely, including at the National Museum of the American Indian, the 2010 Vancouver Cultural Olympiad, and from 2018-2022 as co-curator of the renewed Northwest Coast Hall at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
